THE TAPROOM

Big Beach Brewing company boasts a beautiful open-air taproom complete with fireplace and comfortable seating. We also have tons of table seating for those that might want to bring in or order food. A most pleasant place to unwind or even have a business meeting, Big Beach has four garage doors so the coastal breeze can flow right through our taproom.

You can expect to see craft beer lovers soaking up the Southern sun in our front yard. We encourage families to come visit us so that parents can have fun while kids enjoy our family friendly outside.

We have 12 taps at Big Beach with craft beer being our specialty. We carry Pensacola-made Big Jerk Soda for those who aren't drinkers.

We don't have a kitchen at Big Beach, but there are several options for food. Food trucks park at Big Beach during some special events and live music.  You may bring food with you to Big Beach, or you may order food to be delivered to Big Beach.

The Brewery

Big Beach Brewing Company is the southernmost brewery in Alabama located in the heart of Gulf Shores. We are proud of our 10 barrel brewing system that is exclusively dedicated to brewing and serving all kinds of ales from IPAs and Stouts to Cream Ales and Belgian style beers. We have six fermenters in which we are able to produce enough beers to present up to 12 beers on tap at a time. We pride ourselves on having a "tank to tap" operation. Tank to tap essentially means that instead of running our draught lines from kegs, we've got a bunch (by a bunch, we mean eight) of beautiful 300 gallon vessels behind our bar on display that tenderly hold our beer to ensure it is the freshest beer around. Our head brewer, Rod Murray, along with the owners and some of our staff are proud to be one of the first to bring local craft beer to our beloved beach town. We brew what we like, and we hope you'll like it too.

We Brew What We Like

And that's just how it all started. My family and I are all avid craft beer drinkers. Eight years ago, my daughter bought me a Mr. Beer brewing kit and an out-of-control hobby was born.  We quickly grew out of Mr. Beer and started brewing underneath our stilted house and in our basement, right here in Orange Beach, Alabama. We brewed what we liked, and we liked it too much. It only seemed right to share.

Initially, opening a brewery was just a pipedream. But eventually, we felt convinced that our impressive little beach town was missing out on the high-quality craft brews that we were enjoying elsewhere.  It just didn't make sense that a brewery didn't exist here in Gulf Shores. We decided that if we like our beer this much, hopefully the fine folks that visit our taproom will enjoy our beers too. Hence, Big Beach Brewing Company came to life!

We believe nothing brings a community together like sharing a pint. Thank you for your support and we will see you on the other side of the bar!

Cheers,

Jim and Julie Shamburger
